Create your first Minecraft mod with MC Mod Maker
Make a custom block, item or mob from a description, inspect its browser preview, refine a saved creation and download a Fabric mod for Minecraft Java 1.21.1.
MC Mod Maker is a browser creation studio for custom Minecraft blocks, items and mobs. Describe one creation, inspect its 3D model, then download the available files. The Java game export targets Minecraft Java 1.21.1, Fabric and Java 21. You test the downloaded mod in Minecraft; the browser preview lets you inspect its appearance and animations.
Sign in before creating
You can browse public examples without an account. To generate a creation, use AI prompt assistance or access your personal history, sign in with a verified email. Registration includes a one-time confirmation that you are an adult and accept the terms.
A verified account receives 120 free credits once, with no expiry. A new generation or an edit costs 100 credits, so the trial covers one generation and leaves 20 credits. AI prompt is free up to 20 accepted requests per account daily, across devices, with a reset at 00:00 UTC. Previewing and downloading your saved files does not consume credits. Current credit packs are listed on the pricing page.
Describe one creation
Write its appearance, intended behavior and any important numbers. For example:
A blue crystal sword with a gold handle, a dark grip and attack damage 8. Keep the blade narrow and use a Minecraft cuboid style.
Start with one block, item or mob rather than an entire modpack. Specify what matters: palette, proportions, recognizable parts and a short behavior description. A new generation starts a new project. To modify an existing result, explicitly select that result as an editing source.
Add useful materials
Add materials accepts PNG, JPG or WebP reference images up to 8 MB, and lets you choose your own saved creations. You can also drag or paste an image into the composer. An image can be used without a text prompt, though a short description helps explain which features to preserve.
Reference images guide a Minecraft-style approximation, not an exact reconstruction. Use images you have the right to use. The studio does not accept uploaded mod JARs, source archives or model files as creation materials.
The optional AI prompt button reads your draft and selected materials and returns a short editable description. Review it before generating: this action does not create a model or validate gameplay.
Generate and inspect
Press Generate, then keep browsing examples, history or existing downloads while the task runs. You can have up to three generation tasks in progress. When a result is ready, use View result beside the composer; completion does not replace a creation you are already viewing.
Rotate, pan and zoom the viewer. Check the silhouette and important details from several angles, and try any available actions. For a sword, inspect the blade, handle and proportions. For a mob, check its body, limbs, weapon and movement. Browser effects show the intended presentation; actual movement, damage and interactions require a game test.
Make a focused revision
Choose Continue editing on a saved result, or select an owned creation through Add materials. Then describe a bounded change:
Keep the shape and colors. Change attack damage to 10 and make the gold guard slightly wider.
Opening a history card for viewing does not attach it as an editing source. Check which version is selected before submitting an edit. Each edit uses 100 credits and produces a saved revision. Sign in with the same account on another device to access your library.
Choose your next step
- To inspect or edit geometry in Blockbench, download .bbmodel.
- To inspect textures, download the available .png files.
- To examine the project, download the source .zip.
- To test the Java creation in Minecraft, use the successfully built Fabric .jar.
These files are different outputs; a model or source archive is not an installed mod. See the download guide and Fabric installation tutorial.
For concrete starting points, follow the custom sword tutorial or custom mob tutorial. The Emberforge Surveyor and Copperwing Pathfinder case pages show two more detailed creations with downloadable models and Fabric JARs.
